Snow White VS Cinderella
“Behaving like a princess is work. It's not just about looking beautiful or wearing a crown. It's more about how you are inside.”
-Julie Andrews
Snow White - The fairest one of all.
Cinderella - The Princess of midnight with a bizarrely unique shoe size.
The idea of royal descendancy existed probably as long as the monarchy itself, and tales about those royalties existed for generations to come, yet as of today, Disney got to be the one to popularise this idea across the minds of children and cherish it as much as their largest franchises and mascots. But the route to that glory was fairly long and far from effortless, both for Disney, and for our today’s combatants. No matter how cruel the world is towards them, with their beauty, fairness and kindness, these damsels were able to withstand everything in their pursuit of dreams and love. But out of the very first Disney Princesses, which one would be the most fit and fair of all…
Background
Snow White
“Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow.”
The year was 1937, movies and cartoons were just starting to evolve, and soon the world gets to see for the very first time an animated movie of a feature-length, as well as the very first out of many in the future to popularise a princess - “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, based on the German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Snow White was just an orphan who happened to live with a stepmother - The Queen who was in fear that at one point, one day, Snow White’s beauty would overshadow her own. Because of that, The Queen was dressing Snow White in drags and forcing her to work as a scullery maid in her castle. Yet no matter how hard The Queen wanted to humiliate Snow White, this very day has come, the magic mirror on the wall has chosen Snow White as the fairest of all… A proclamation like that angered The Queen like never before, so she hired a Huntsman and ordered him to take Snow White far into the forest and kill her. However upon seeing Snow White’s kindness, the Huntsman simply couldn’t bring himself to do such a thing, instead he told her about The Queen’s evil intentions and advised Snow White to run as far as she can, so The Queen won’t reach her. Upon running away, Snow White, with help from the forest’s inhabitants, found a small but a very comfortable cottage. But everything inside of the cottage was very small, as if the ones that occupied it were not adults but children! On top of that, despite being the only house in the whole forest to hide in and live, it was a complete mess, so naturally Snow White and the animals she met cleaned it up completely.
Little did she know, the house actually belonged not to some children, but rather seven dwarfs, who just came back from their daily routine in the mines. While startled at first, Snow White ended up befriending the dwarfs, and they agreed to keep her safe from her evil stepmother, as long as she will keep the house clean the same way she did the day she came. Though it seems the dwarfs were actually more than glad to keep a company for Snow White. The next day, when The Queen decided to ask the magic mirror the very same question, she got herself the very same response and not good news for her, Snow White was alive and the Huntsman lied about killing her. So instead The Queen took action into her own hands, poisoning one of the apples and disguising herself as the old and poor peddler. The disguise worked and what Snow White accepted as a kind gift from a poor old woman, was ultimately what led her to be put into eternal sleep. As soon as the dwarfs and all the forest animals found out about Snow White being in danger, they were chasing The Queen down, until she reached the edge of the cliff, from which she falls to her death and gets crushed by a boulder. But despite their attempts it was way too late, acknowledging that, the dwarfs were grieved and held a funeral at their own cottage. Yet even in eternal sleep she was as beautiful as alive, so they kept her in a glass coffin instead of burying her in the ground. As time went by, The Prince rode to this very cottage upon hearing the news, and gave the princess a love’s first kiss that broke the curse and awoke Snow White. Right afterwards, she bid farewell to her new friends and before leaving with his Prince for his castle, where they proceeded to live happily ever after…
This animated film proved to be such a big success for the Disney studio that it led them to create more feature-length cartoons like that in the future, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Bambi, Dumbo and more, though the idea of an hour long cartoon about old fairy tales with princesses wasn’t looked at again for quite a while… only until 13 years later.
Cinderella
13 years later, the year 1950 has come, after Snow White’s success, Disney began to explore a lot more into the depths of filming old fairy tales into reality, and even though it proved to be a challenge to work around to the point that it was even necessary to do some reworking, the next princess gets to shine bright in a dark picture palace - “Cinderella”, inspired by an old folk tale of the same name by the Grimms Brothers. Originally Cinderella lived a pretty ordinary but peaceful life with her parents, however, after her mother’s death Cinderella’s father remarried to another believing that she “needs a mother’s care”. Shortly after the remarriage, her father died as well, leaving the house under control of Cinderella’s new stepmother, Lady Tremaine and her two stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella. The stepfamily was cruel and jealous of Cinderella, because of which Tremaine reduced Cinderella to be nothing more than a mere servant, who keeps the house clean and feeds animals. Despite that, Cinderella remained rather kind, optimistic, patient and beautiful on the inside. One day this everlasting faith paid off for Cinderella big time, because one day, The King of the land decided - he needs to be a grandfather. So his option was to get all the maidens across the land to a dancing ball, whoever The Prince falls in love with, will be married to him and become a princess. Upon hearing the news, all of the stepfamily was preparing for the ball, Cinderella despite lacking her own dress also wanted to visit it, so upon realising that, the animals she was friends with decided to repay her for her kindness. By uniting their forces and collecting nearby material, they were able to make a beautiful dress for Cinderella. Cinderella, upon seeing that, was excited and prepared to go to the ball with the whole family, but upon seeing her dress, her sisters immediately tore it apart, leaving her no choice but to stay home…or so they thought.
But even despite that, her hope, her faith caused the Fairy Godmother to appear. Using her magical abilities, she turned a nearby pumpkin into a coach, mice into horses, a horse into coachman and a dog into a footman, as well as turning Cinderella’s ripped dress into the most beautiful shiny dress with glass slippers. There was only one catch, all of the magic will be undone at the stroke of midnight, with that in mind, Cinderella went to the castle. The moment she entered the ballroom of the castle, she immediately attracted the attention of the Prince. Throughout the ball they fell in love with each other, and time simply flew by for both, so much so that Cinderella didn’t even notice that it was midnight already. In fear that she won’t be accepted for who she is, she chooses to run away, leaving behind only a crystal clear glass slipper. The only thing that was left after all magic was undone. Upon seeing this glass slipper, The Prince has decided to search across all the kingdom, whoever’s foot would perfectly fit into the slipper, should be the one who was dancing with him during the ball. Upon hearing the news Cinderella got excited and started to remind herself of moments from the ball, what she didn’t realise however is that upon seeing that her stepmother realised that the mysterious girl dancing with The Prince was in fact Cinderella, so to make sure she won’t be noticed by anyone she locked her in her room. But Cinderella’s animal friends decided to step in and help as well, while the Duke was coming to their mansion, with their combined effort they managed to steal back the key and give it to Cinderella, just when the Duke was about to leave. After that moment, not even Lady Tremaine breaking the glass slipper could have prevented Cinderella from achieving her dreams as she had another one with herself the whole time. With that in mind The Prince found her future wife, and they went on to live happily ever after…
After Cinderella, slowly but surely there began to be quite more princesses to fill the roster, and still she remains as one of the most impactful princesses Disney ever made for themselves, but will her happily ever after continue against just as impactful a princess? Let’s find out…
Equipment
Snow White
Broom
A cleaning broom which Snow White uses to clean the dwarf's house. She could probably hit you on the head with it if she wanted, but she's too nice to do that.
Mountain Heart
Found by her friends dwarfs at the heart of the mountain (who would've guessed), this gem can seemingly bend earth/rock, as it was shown to open an entrance to the cave with just its pure (magical???) might.
Witchwand
A powerful witch tool used by the Queen to perform magic, Dopey managed to steal it from her and defeat her with it. There is no indication that the Queen ever got it back, so Snow White and the dwarfs presumably just have it now. With it, the user can do almost anything they want, though they need to know the correct spell command.
Dwarf Tools
The Dwarfs have multiple tools they use that are potentially pretty dangerous, including pickaxes, regular axes, hammers and saws. They can clear large blockages of rocks with these in a couple seconds.
Bows
The Dwarfs possess bows, though instead of being armed with arrows, they utilize quills from hedgehogs as projectiles. You'd think that would be pretty inefficient, but it seems to work just fine for them.
Magic Mirror
After Snow White became queen herself, she acquired the famous mirror on the wall that the former queen had owned. Originally, the mirror had contained the spirit of the Queen's father, but after the Queen died, his spirit was replaced by hers. The spirit in the mirror must obey their owner, and they are unable to lie about anything. The spirit knows almost everything, being able to see into the hearts and minds of everyone alive and see into their memories and emotions, however they cannot know anything about the afterlife or other dead spirits. The Mirror also apparently can decelerate opponents of her choosing, as well as give Snow White some level of magical protection.
Cinderella
Cleaning Supplies
Being forced to be a maidservant for years, Cinderella has multiple cleaning tools, including a broom, which she will hit you on the head with.
Glass Slippers
Probably the item that makes Cinderella so iconic are slippers made out of glass that were the only thing left after Fairy Godmother’s magic disappeared upon midnight. These glass slippers served as a climax to her main story, and later apparently gained some amount of magic it seems, as with its power it is possible to just make a glass bridge, and presumably other glass based constructs. Or in theory she could use them in the same way she did in Wreck it Ralph 2 sure…
Magic Wand
The iconic magic wand which can change anything the user wishes. It belongs to the Fairy Godmother, however anyone, including Cinderella or her mice can use it if they have it in their possession. By saying the words “bibbidi bobbidi boo”, the user can effectively do anything they want, which we will cover in Cinderella’s abilities section. If a person or object is transformed into something else, then they can be reverted back if they sustain enough damage, and all spells have a time limit until midnight when their effects will wear off.
Abilities
Snow White
Singing
By singing, Snow White is able to put any enemy, or tree, immediately to sleep, which can work well as a method of incapacitation. It can also be used to summon the dwarfs, grow plant life, or just drive enemies away from her.
Aura
By some means of which we do not know, at some point in time, Snow White had attained a manner of golden aura that emanates from her body (probably not connected to Sofia’s Amulet via which Snow White was summoned given other princesses that were summoned by her lacked it). It doesn’t seem to do anything that we know of, but perhaps it is some mark of her divine status as Disney Princess Jesus. Actually, think about that - Snow White was kind to everyone she met, believed in God, and she also died and came back to life, the thing that killed her becoming the symbol that represents her. Huh…
Transmutation
With the witchwand, Snow White or the dwarfs are able to not only use its magic to transform other people into objects, but can also use it to transform themselves into other people or into conscious gasses of smoke. In addition, the witchwand can be used to undo the effects of transmutation, in case anyone were to be transformed. This spell seems to require the command “Abra-Ca-Morpha” to be said by someone to work, though it doesn't necessarily need to be the user who says it.
Attack Reflection
At one point, Snow White was given a locket by Circe, The Enchantress who cursed the Beast in Beauty and the Beast which contained some mystical liquid upon drinking from it. What does it do? Well, when The Odd Sisters were strangling her, upon drinking from the locket, the effect of Snow White's strangulation was reflected unto the Odd Sisters. The locket had seemingly enchanted Snow White with the protective ability to reflect attacks on her to others, like voodoo. After this, the Odd Sisters remarked that Circe had “shared their blood” with Snow White. So, Snow White might be part witch now.
The Travel Charm
Another spell that Snow White seemed to learn from Circe is The “Travel Charm”. Now, it may sound ambiguous in regards to how it works but thanks to the additional context within the book itself it should be fairly easy to connect the dots. You see, this very same Travel Charm was used before, by Maleficent at her very young age. With the way it is described it most likely is the same traveling charm she used at the very beginning of Sleeping Beauty - that being covering herself in fire until suddenly vanishing from everyone’s eyesight.
While Snow White didn't appear immediately in Morningstar Kingdom (hence, she sent a letter first), considering the context of the letter written above, as well as considering how large the distance between Snow White’s Kingdom and Morningstar Kingdom is, she must've spent some time into preparations first before getting into Morningstar Kingdom, and some sort of teleportation is the closest guess here, especially considering we see fairies and witches to perform somewhat similar tricks of teleportation in later stories, or even just in original cartoons themselves.
Wishing
This may sound sort of absurd but hear us out. Throughout the film, one of the most prevalent themes in Snow White was the idea that wishes could come true if you believed in them. Right before she eats from the poisoned apple, Snow White makes a wish to see her true love again. The series of events that led to her revival are kind of convoluted in context when you think about it, and the Queen was certain that she would be buried alive, but instead, she was put into a glass casket in the open, and then the Prince simply happened to find her in the middle of the forest and decide to kiss her presumably dead body. Maybe this is only because this is an old Disney movie, but the idea of wishes being granted is very prevalent throughout the film, and even the very first song of the movie is Snow White singing about wishing for her love to find her - right before the Prince found her. Even in the side media retellings of the story, they also support the idea that there may have been a magical element to Snow White’s wish being fulfilled and surviving the Sleeping Death.
While it does suggest that perhaps the apple really was magical or wish granting, that's exactly the thing - it wasn't. It was a lie by the Queen, and Snow White merely believed that it was. The 2019 comic also says very similar things about the end of the story, that her wish with the apple did actually come true. In the Villains book series, when Snow White wished for her mother to be with her, right after that, she revealed the mirror which had the Queen's spirit in it. This does rely on subtext and is fairly ambiguous in how it works, but it is worth mentioning nonetheless, and the evidence for it is fairly abundant.
Cinderella
Wall Climbing?!?!?
Cinderella’s grip strength is so strong that she can apparently climb walls like Spider-Man. What the hell
Transmutation
Perhaps the most commonly used ability of the wand is the power to change people or objects into anything the user wants, such as turning mice into horses, pumpkins into carriages, people into frogs, a cat into a jack in the box, or Cinderella’s tattered clothes into a brand new gown. The effects of the transmutation, however, do have a limit. You probably know that the effects of the magic only lasted until midnight, but what you probably didn't know is that the transmutation magic can also be reverted if the transmuted entity in question suffers sufficient damage.
Petrification
Perhaps a facility of transmutation, the wand can turn targets into stone, even the Fairy Godmother herself. Ironically in a Villains book series Fairy Godmother herself turned Lady Tremaine into a statue. The wand also is able to reverse aforementioned effects, returning them to normal if someone were to be transformed.
Animation
The wand can seemingly bestow life upon inanimate objects, giving them the ability to move around and act upon what the user wants of them, be it creating a giant hostile pumpkin or simply making small objects do your tasks for you.
Size Alteration
The wand possesses the ability to alter a target's size, being able to either make them extremely small or even increase their size. It makes you wonder what the purpose of having tiny allies like the mice is.
Telekinesis
The wand can control the motion of objects, halting their momentum or simply just move them around.
Teleportation
Using the wand, the user can teleport themselves or others across different locations. Tremaine once used this ability to send Cinderella far away from the castle to keep her away from her own wedding, though she eventually returned.
Memory Manipulation
In Cinderella III, after reversing time, Tremaine used the wand to alter the prince's memories of the ball with Cinderella so that he remembers dancing with Anastasia rather than Cinderella. Interestingly, the Prince never really regained his memories properly, rather he became convinced that it must have been Cinderella he danced with.
Time Manipulation
In the third movie, Tremaine used the wand to reverse time back before Cinderella put on the glass slipper. While doing this, the user can select exactly when they want time to resume, and they themselves, as well as whoever else they want, are immune to the effects of this time reversal. The Fairy Godmother also suggested that she would be able to reverse this reversion of time if Cinderella wanted.
Entrapment
In the Villains book series it turns out that Fairy Godmother “put an enchantment on Tremaine and Cinderella so they would never meet again”. Said enchantment trapped Tremaines inside of an old château they lived in during Cinderella events (what the hell…).
Portal Creation
It also appears in the very same book series that the Fairy Godmother was able to create a vortex by which she sent Circe and The Odd Sisters to “Hades’s domain” which as you can guess, is Hell. Yeah she just…does that, wow.
Support
Snow White
Woodland Creatures
Snow White's pure kindness and goodness is, in a way, her own super power. She is apparently so pure hearted that every animal in the forest (aside from vultures) are compelled to immediately join her side and help her with whatever task she is troubled with, even when first meeting her, be it cleaning or even attacking anyone who bears ill intent to her. They have even started a whole stampede to chase down the Queen before in an attempt to save her life. Or alternatively, they can also carry her whole kart ahead she goes Go Karting. While they do not speak, they seem to possess somewhat superior intelligence to ordinary animals, and can understand human language. There are dozens of Woodland animals that are ready to aid her, including rabbits, turtles, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, raccoons, deer, porcupine, snakes, Platypus, frogs, bears, beavers, foxes, and apparently Bambi.
The Seven Dwarfs
Within the forest, Snow White discovered a home to seven dwarfs, magical creatures each with quirks of their own - Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey. All of them grew close to Snow White as they lived together, and have aimed to protect her. Even if they are not already nearby, Snow White’s animals will attempt to bring them to her if she is in danger, and Snow White herself can summon them.
They work in the mines and as such, are armed with hefty pickaxes, and Sneezy has sneezes so powerful that they can blow people and objects away, while Dopey can withstand bludgeoning from every dwarf at once for a full minute with no injuries or signs of pain at all, and he is also stated to be able to move as fast as lightning. In the Snow White Gameboy Color game, Dopey was able to attack vultures by reflecting energy balls that came from the sun. Since they take only one second to cross and the sun is 149 million kilometers away from the Earth, they'd have to be moving at around 500 times the speed of light, and Dopey is fast enough to react to them, as well as the vultures are able to fly in tandem with them. At one point, Sleepy's snoring was able to cause an Earthquake that could be felt from the dwarf's cottage, all the way from the mines (169 Tons of TNT). And yet, somehow, Snow White is stronger than the dwarfs.
Cinderella
Mice
Cinderella has a good relationship with a loyal pack of mice that are always available to help her in any conflict. They can communicate freely with Cinderella, and are especially intelligent, being able to out-fox opponents. The most notable ones are Jaq and Gus, who usually help Cinderella by retrieving small items from other people without them noticing, or by going through small spaces and areas she can't access.
Blue Birds
Along with the mice, there is also a group of blue birds that are friendly with Cinderella and help her in any way they can. Obviously, their flight enables them to do many things that the mice cannot, although they do not communicate through English unlike the mice.
Bruno
Bruno is a medium sized dog, and the largest animal that actively helps Cinderella. In the movie, he was used to help scare away and defeat Lucifer - the cat, not the devil. Unfortunately, Cinderella does not fight the ruler of Hell.
Fairy Godmother
Cinderella’s best support, her Fairy Godmother appears to her when she is in distress and needs to use her power. She doesn't always appear when Cinderella is in trouble however, so would a fight to the death count? Probably, after all Cinderella’s faith is what made her appear originally, at least Fairy Godmother says so (and so does Cinderella’s own mother). Her Fairy Godmother is the one in possession of the wand, and with it, she can grant any wish that Cinderella wants with a bibbidi bobbidi boo. She can't use most of her magic without the wand, but even without it, she is still capable of appearing and reappearing.
Feats
Snow White
Endured being forced into a servant by the Queen for several years.
Eventually became so beautiful that Magic Mirror claimed her to be the fairest one of all.
Survived the evil trees attacking her in the forest.
Befriended the Seven Dwarfs, even including Grumpy.
Ultimately survived eating from the poisoned apple and was awakened by her true love.
Is the very first feature-length animated movie
Cinderella
Was able to endure her stepfamily’s abuse for years, keeping faith until the very end of her story.
With the help of her animals, managed to foil Tremaine's plot and marry the Prince Charming.
Even when being new to her role as Princess, successfully reformed the royal castle and the kingdom.
Helped Anastasia reform and find her own true love.
Even after Tremaine reversed time to stop Cinderella, she defeated her and married the Prince again.
Her castle is literally the Disney logo.
Weaknesses
Snow White
Snow White has sparse combat experience, and in fact very little experience dealing with adversity in general. She's the polar opposite of a fighter, and although her animals and dwarfs do fight on her behalf, she rarely commands them or strategizes for them, so she essentially has to mostly rely on others for the entirety of the fight.
Cinderella
Cinderella doesn't exactly have much combat experience, or even with directly using the wand herself (given the only time we see her using it is during Cinderella III to specifically bring Fairy Godmother back). In addition, the wand can be disarmed and has been before, and using magic from it requires vocally saying the command “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo”, which has proven to be a weakness for her usage of it before, as it can be interrupted. Also, as shown in Cinderella III, the magic spells from the wand can be deflected back by any reflective surfaces. And also if the Magic Wand breaks Fairy Godmother and Cinderella won’t be able to do any magic until the wand will be repaired.
Summary
Snow White
“Remember you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine”
Advantages:
Animals are more plentiful in number and are also larger and stronger
More allies that can more effectively defend Snow White than Cinderella's
Mirror can offer near omniscient insight
The mirror can bonus as a reflective shield against the wand's magic
The Dwarfs (and probably Snow White herself) are physically superior to anything on Cinderella’s side
Witchwand can reverse transmutation if performed on her
“Fairest of All” graphic novel is actually pretty good, you guys should check it out…
Disadvantages:
The Magic Wand is a lot more powerful than anyone on Snow White’s side
The wand's spells hitting Snow White could be incredibly dangerous
Cinderella’s animals are seemingly more intelligent
Less mature and experienced with overcoming adversity
Stop making her associate with apples!!! She would not like apples!!!
Cinderella
Advantages:
More mature and experienced with overcoming adversity
The wand is significantly more powerful than Snow White or her allies
With the wand, has significantly more abilities and instant win options than Snow White or her allies
Her animals, specifically her mice, are smarter than Snow White's animals
Allies can reverse transmutation if performed on her
Cinderella III is actually a pretty good Cinderella sequel…
Disadvantages:
Less animals, as well as majority of hers are weaker and smaller in comparison to Snow White’s
Less allies that could defend her
The Dwarfs (perhaps along with Snow White) are physically superior to anything on Cinderella’s side in both power and speed
Snow White’s allies potentially counter magic wand’s instant win option via being basically a meat shield or by using the Witchwand or the Queen's magical protections
Snow White’s mirror can bonus as a reflective shield against the wand's magic
…Cinderella II on the other hand…
Before the Verdicts…
Are Disney Princesses actually related to each other?
(Short Answer: Kinda)
So, one of the most common things to happen in Disney with its franchises are crossovers. You have plenty of them to count: Kingdom Hearts, Mirrorverse, House of Mouse, technically Wreck it Ralph 2 as you can see above, plenty of Disney collabs with other brands, Disneyland, you name it. Though at the same time, while there are plenty of crossovers where Disney princesses are in more “outlandish” scenarios like a Mickey Mouse cartoon or, again, Kingdom Hearts, there are also cases when specifically Disney 2D cartoons (usually, but not exclusive to, the ones with Disney Princesses) are being connected in a more “serious” sense. For instance there are a few games where you get to play as self-insert characters and go through various lands of Disney princesses, usually pretty consistently involving Snow White and Cinderella, in one of those games they even directly co-exist at the same time with other Disney Princesses. There is also a manga series “Kilala Princess” where its protagonist is travelling across 6 worlds meeting each of the princesses (and also apparently meeting with Mulan as well a bit later, cool). There is obviously also Sofia the First where plenty of Disney Princesses are being summoned by Sofia’s amulet to help her in guidance. And also we literally just got announced in a recent Nintendo Direct about Disney Villains in a cafe for some reason…But those are still separate media that usually do not involve a major plot between princesses and other characters so it may still be fair to be judgemental about this.
However there are 2 probably some of the most notable examples that while don’t connect all of the Disney media with each other, create a really interesting chain of connections nevertheless. The first example you are probably already aware of, that being Descendants, where we see plenty of Disney characters co-existing, including Snow White and Cinderella characters. The arguments for Descendants being canon you may see in Shrek vs Beast blog. What we will talk about however is a much more deep rooted, surprising and simply very compelling book series - Villains.
To give a slight summary the book series takes various Disney stories and tells them from the perspective of its villains, Snow White’s Evil Queen, Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent, both The Beast & Gaston, Tangled’s Mother Gothel, The Little Mermaid’s Ursula, Peter Pan’s Captain Hook, Hercules’ Hades, Cinderella’s Lady Tremaine etc. What is compelling here however are not only stories themselves (which, keep in mind, are still the same stories that you’ve seen as cartoons just being told here and there either from villain’s point of view or at least added more depth to themselves), but rather the fact that all of these stories have a genuine connection with each other. One of the connections to take here are characters that are prominent to this series - The Odd Sisters.
These three triplets - Lucinda, Ruby and Martha are basically cousins of King White - the father of Snow White. Despite being practically Snow White’s relatives they really, really hate Snow White. You might be wondering why, well one of the reasons perhaps is because aside from White’s cousins these 3 are also powerful witches who are either responsible for causing various characters of Disney stories to corrupt and suffer, or intervene within these stories, one of their first victims was Grimhilde, also known as Evil Queen, who as you may guess wasn’t evil inherently, at least in this plot.
Instead, the Magic Mirror, that was actually their creation into which they’ve placed Grimhilde Father’s soul, eventually corrupted her, once King White died in a war (It gets a bit more deep rooted here). However as mentioned above Snow White isn’t the only Disney fairy tale that they were influenced in. As a matter of fact, the stories for the majority of the characters were written beforehand in The Book of Fairy Tales, the book that quite literally portrays the fate of Disney characters, making it somewhat of a force in itself.
But before going on to that topic, we do want to advise you that we’re only explaining details about relations/connections between Disney Fairy Tales, rather than just telling the whole stories of all the books, given that simultaneously each story is individual but they all are connected as one long storyline. For that matter we’d recommend checking out the books, while this section, as stated above, mostly points out these relations. With that being said, let’s look closely at co-relations here…
For instance, remember how all of a sudden during Beauty and the Beast, Belle got attacked by Wolves? Yup, that was them. During Beauty and the Beast events they practically were interfering so that Beast’s curse will stay. Only for Circe, The Enchantress who cursed The Prince in the first place, to reverse the curse (well that does explain why Beast’s wound suddenly healed…). In the same book, the sisters claimed to be familiar with Ursula.
And later on in the next book, Poor Unfortunate Soul - the book about Ursula, we see them calling her in the first chapter, to make a deal with her. In this very same book, The Odd Sisters were messaged by Maleficent herself, who warned them not to trust Ursula. And it was true, Ursula eventually pretty much double crossed The Sisters, which the latter were really mad about, so the moment they saw Ursula break the conditions of her contract with Ariel, The Odd Sisters took the moment to their advantage and empowered Prince Eric and his ship to kill Ursula.
Later on in Mistress of All Evil - the book about Maleficent. We see events happening around the same time, when Aurora is about to have her 16th birthday, Maleficent attempts to reach out to The Odd Sisters, while stating how they shouldn’t have trusted Ursula, trying to find them via Mirror that she was gifted by them, though she wasn't quite used to it. We even find out a bit more about Maleficent’s origins as she grew up in Fairylands, lands where fairies exist and study to perform their duty. With the highest status being “wish-granting”, this fairy status is something that various known fairies have reached, such as Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother as well as Sleeping Beauty’s Three Fairy Godmothers - Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. And Maleficent on top of that was considered by Nanny (another Fairy) to pass an exam for that ranking at the age of 10, which despite her being hated in fairylands, she was still an incredibly talented sorcerer overall. To the point that she even decided to learn all magic, not just fairy magic, The Odd Sisters themselves even have noted that while Nanny and Maleficent were born as fairies, they were “witches at heart”. There is another interesting plot twist in regards with Maleficent, but to be closer to the point, Fairy Godmother has encountered Maleficent (both as a student and as an opponent) and The Evil Queen Grimhilde was basically a familiar ally for Maleficent.
In Never Never - the book about Captain Hook, Tinker Bell is stated to be sent from Fairylands, which as stated above is a land where fairies from various fairy tales exist, therefore connecting Peter Pan characters to this chain as well. As a matter of fact, Captain Hook himself has also met The Odd Sisters and other witches and was pretty much implied to be below them given that in a majority of the interactions he is told not to mess with them. Peter Pan himself also stated to meet The Odd Sisters and traded Tinker Bell’s dust to get his own shadow back (which in turn not only implies The Odd Sisters being able to catch Peter Pan’s shadow, but also made Peter partially responsible for Captain Hook’s fate being an “evil pirate” to fight with in Never Land…jesus).
Now we could point out more and more of the various connections that are mentioned in this book, but let us just wrap it up as it becomes pretty obvious that each of this book has The Odd Sisters, Circe or other Disney Fairy Tale character involved (including the villains like: Mother Gothel, Cruella, Hades, even Queen of Hearts (because dream worlds turns out to be also a thing that is possible to visit, which is also where Aurora was when she was asleep)) Additionally by adding 2 more pieces of evidence that we get within the book about The Odd Sisters: Family Trees in the first image and Map of Many Kingdoms (yes that’s how the place is overall called) in the second image:
In addition, there are also some specific objects of desires listed within The Odd Sister’ notes, each of the objects being either cursed or at the very least deeply connected to the person, while it is somewhat ambiguous to point out which object belongs to who, it must be simple to point out with a few references at hand, majority of the objects listed are given to a person who already has their own book in this series, with the exception of Facilier’s amulet (meaning that at some point we may get a Facilier book). This overall leaves us with these Disney Cartoons to be related with each other and co-existing in one way or another:
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty
Beauty and the Beast
Little Mermaid
Hercules
Alice in the Wonderland
Peter Pan
101 Dalmatian
Tangled
The Princess and the frog
Pinocchio
Though there are also not specifically crossover games or some sort of lore literature, but rather cameos or crossover episodes between the characters that can also be brought up. For instance you can use one of the episodes where Hercules and Aladdin crossover, which could also lead to a thread to connect between Aladdin and other Disney cartoons. In addition we see Rapunzel to be in Frozen (even if for a more brief moment) so Frozen is also technically connected to this chain. And as a little cherry on top there are also Bambi characters that just happened to be in some Snow White plots for some reason, as well as majorly contribute in said plots. Within the old Snow White comics we even see Jiminy Cricket be a relevant character as a matter of fact.
Now how does this all connect to Snow White and Cinderella scaling wise? Well, let's start on Cinderella's end. We see these sisters along with Circe to interact with Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, at which point they’re being rather comparable to each other, in Lady Tremaine’s book, we even see Fairy Godmother’s magic being unable to be broken by other fairies, which includes other fairies/members of the fairy council such as The Three Fairies from Sleeping Beauty, Fairy Godmother's sister Nanny and Pinocchio's Blue Fairy, implying that her magic is equivalent to the other fairies. This makes sense as Fairy Godmother was even the one who was tutoring some of these fairies, as well as she is one of the fairy who has “wish-granting” status, which is practically highest status fairies usually study for, even The Maleficent herself at that time. Take that all into account and it's not that hard to connect dots for Fairy Godmother.
Now let's look at Snow White's end. Grimhilde as a mirror magically protects Snow White, to the point that The Odd Sisters are incapable of attacking her either, so throughout years they were tormenting Snow White through Nightmares instead. Even before getting her spirit in The Magic Mirror, Grimhilde was a pretty talented witch to say the least. With the books that she got from The Odd Sisters she managed to eventually casually learn them and successfully do spells and brew poisons. She herself actually comes from a long line of witches. And to top all that, as stated in previous links, with her soul being in The Magic Mirror, her own magic became more powerful than before, to Sisters’ surprise.
Given that, despite their magic being different, The Witches themselves claim to be basically “The Villains’s Fairy Godmothers”, it is pretty much fair to consider witches and fairies equal to each other. With all aforementioned statements this leads to The Evil Queen Grimhilde (a witch) and Fairy Godmother (a fairy) to be equal to other fairies and witches, and from here to be also equal to whoever witches and fairies interacted with in Disney Fairy Tales. And by the transitive property, at least to a certain degree this scaling also goes to Snow White and Cinderella characters, including princesses themselves. The scaling as you can get from above goes to various villains and heroes of stories such as, again, Ursula & Ariel, Maleficent, Circe herself, Captain Hook & Peter Pan, Cruella, and probably even Greek Gods (albeit the scaling to Greek Gods could be contended with, until further examination that is). Feats such as:
Peter Pan and Tinker Bell tanking a massive explosion caused by Captain Hook’s bomb.
Maleficent creating this big storm (Mach 1.4 and 172 Tons of TNT)
Morgana using Triton’s Trident to create this big storm in Antarctica.
Maleficent also creating bramble forest to prevent Prince Philip from reaching the castle (339.3 - 678.6 Kilotons of TNT)
Peter Pan dodging a flying cannonball
Peter Pan dodging flintlock pistol’s bullet
Tinker Bell flying from Captain Hook’s ship directly to Peter Pan in a seemingly short notice.
Prince Philip dodging Maleficent’s lightning (Mach 260.5)
Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy and others flying to the Neverland in a seemingly short timeframe
Similarly Captain Hook in his ship being able to get to the Neverland also in a noticeably short timeframe (6 Millions C)
Now you might wanna be skeptical on using cross scaling of Disney characters via basically a series that presents itself as dark twists on old Disney Fairy Tales. However we thought it’d be worth noting not only the sheer pattern of the amount of crossover media between Disney animated cartoons (making the idea of Disney Fairy Tales to be related to each other not as ridiculous as it might seem at first), but also presenting one series of media that portrays it in the most serious manner than any other one could’ve done for what it’s worth, making it a very decent possibility to say the least. To put it simply, there is more media where Snow White and Cinderella crossover with other Disney Princesses than there is of their own franchises. Now this blog is mainly about Snow White and Cinderella, so we haven’t looked at every single Disney feat ever, that would take a longer period of time, however we did decide to list feats that we think are both worthy to mention and don’t have any issues in our opinion. In context of this blog specifically, it doesn’t matter as much, as it just makes stats equal, our verdicts practically cover up this fight under the condition of both using feats within their own series and under using cross scaling for both at the same time.

I wasn't really expecting all of this when I started the blog, it was just supposed to be an April Fool's matchup about two characters that obviously aren't meant for or are suitable for vs debates like this. And yet, the more I researched and talked about it, the bigger the fight got and the more genuinely interesting it seemed to me. The theme I think is obvious, the first two Disney Princesses who were forced into servitude by their evil stepmother and had animals who would help them eventually overcome their problems by virtue of their unwavering kindness and faith in their wishes for a better future, who would then go on to marry a prince. I have heard people talk about a Disney Princess battle royale, though the problem with that I feel is that it always feels awkward whenever people try to make a lineup for it, and a lot of the most prominent ones don't really do a whole lot in terms of feats or abilities. Plus, with the format battle royales usually have, I feel like it would be hard to not make that just be a Robot Chicken skit. I think this matchup would keep the general spirit of that idea with the two most iconic and impactful princesses who have the most in common with each other than any of the other ones. Plus, I think they have enough to warrant a fight just for themselves, as surprising as that might sound.
There's a few things to cover, let's start with the most direct comparison we can make, their animal companions. Snow White’s whole thing is that a bunch of animals in the forest really love her and they help her out in a lot of things, which does include attacking people who wish her harm. By contrast, Cinderella also has her own animal friends who help her throughout the movie. So, how do they compare against each other? Um, well… Sorry Jaq fans, I know you all really wanted a win, but this wasn't it. Snow White's support is just far superior to Cinderella’s in nearly every way. She has way more animals on her side, and also bigger and stronger ones too, including deers with antlers. Now Cinderella’s animals are technically used to dealing with bigger ones, but not this many of them at once, and Snow White also has plenty of tiny and nimble animals like the mice as well, so it's kind of a moot point. The mice may be smarter, but who really cares when you are getting outnumbered and outmuscled to such a stupendous degree? It's not like Snow White’s animals are dumb either, they've shown to be intelligent enough and basically have human sentience and understanding. To be fair, Cinderella can adjust her support with the wand by either making her support more powerful and larger or by adding more support by animating inanimate objects, and trust me we will talk more about the wand later, but it's important to know that as it is this is just a way to play catch up while she is wasting precious time. She can't transform all of her animals at once, nor has she been seen to animate a significant amount of large objects at once either, but also, whatever is transformed by the wand can be reverted if they suffer damage, so it's not a reliable boost to begin with. We also can't forget about the dwarfs either, who are far physically superior to anything the wand can make.
Dopey was able to move hundreds of times faster than light, and Sleepy could make an earthquake felt from the cottage from the mines just by snoring. I think they're a bit too much for the kinds of things that the wand could conjure up, let alone Cinderella’s regular repertoire of support. Even if we ignore those types of feats and media, they are still plainly superhuman and only add to Snow White's advantage in infantry. So obviously, Snow White has the direct physical advantage here and can overwhelm Cinderella pretty badly, but that's only one small part of this fight. After all, who cares if Snow White has a bunch of bunnies and squirrels when Cinderella can use literal magic that can do pretty much anything? With things like transmutation, petrification, teleportation, memory manipulation and even time manipulation, Cinderella can completely bypass the physical advantages of Snow White's forces, and any hit from her wand's magic on Snow White herself could immediately end the fight. On a surface level glance, this should be an easy win for Cinderella, but consider the full image here for a second. Cinderella is fighting against a veritable squadron of foes faster than herself, and who will primarily defend Snow White beyond all else. The wand doesn't instantly transform a target, its magic has to hit them first, and she has to get past dozens of animals and the dwarfs while also trying to defend herself.
Remember, Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother and whoever else has to say the command “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo” in order to use the wand's magic. There have been some exceptions, but they are very few and far between (and largely, the wand's magic without using the command has only been shown to be used for things like minor telekinesis), and this command has been a proven weakness for Cinderella herself attempting to use it. That isn't to say that they can't cast any spells, but she can't get rid of all of Snow White's allies at once, so I kind of wonder if their sheer numbers wouldn't still just overwhelm her, magic or not. Not to mention that the wand can also be disarmed from the Godmother or Cinderella, which leaves them pretty shit out of luck if that were to happen. Given that Snow White has a lot of birds on her side, that isn't even really totally unlikely. Even if Snow White was hit by its magic, the dwarfs can simply reverse the effect of the transmutation with the witchwand, just like how they did in an identical scenario when the Queen transformed Snow White into a doll, and the witchwand can also be used to target Cinderella herself, basically canceling the whole thing out. Of course, there's one supporting actor for Snow White I have neglected to bring up until now, and it's a big one.
You know that mirror on the wall that can tell the Queen anything she wanted to know? Well, Snow White owns that now, and it's able to see into all the thoughts and memories of Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother and all of her allies. With this, Snow White can learn all of the wand's weaknesses and downsides, including how to revert transformations, that it can be disarmed, the command they need to use it, and even how the magic spells can be deflected by reflective surfaces. Reflective surfaces like, I don't know… a mirror? The mirror is honestly a very big boon for Snow White in this matchup, not only can she learn everything she needs to know, but it also doubles as a perfect shield that can reflect any magic back at Cinderella or the Godmother. It is deeply ironic that one of Snow White's biggest advantages comes from how her evil stepmother at least somewhat still loved her after she was defeated, and comparing that to a scene where Cinderella’s didn't and was trying to kill her. Funny enough however, Cinderella has a pretty good win condition that can largely ignore this and doesn't have a direct counter on Snow White’s part, which is literally sending her to Hell. Well, Hades’ underworld, but same thing. As funny as sending Snow White to Hell would be as a win condition, it is only one potential option and not the most frequent offensive option of the wand, and it works by creating a vortex near the target, so it is still possible that Snow White could avoid it, and her Travel Charm makes it possible that she could return even if sent away. The Queen as the Mirror is also able to grant Snow White magical protection from all the magic of the Odd Sisters, so it is possible that she could nullify any magical effects dragging her into a vortex, or transmuting her, or anything else. Though, the same goes for Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother. Both fairies and witches have very similar types of magic and they are warring factions with one another, so it is totally possible that they can completely counter each other out magic wise, and if you wanted to take it another step further then you could reasonably cross scale them to each other. However, even without magic or Snow White's physical advantages, Snow White has more at her disposal, such as better support, damage reflection, less notable weaknesses, and the ability to instantly end the fight by singing Cinderella and her support to sleep - no magic, items, support or commands required. In order to cross scale them via Villains, you must also grant that they can completely counter each other's magic through their witch and fairies protections, and Cinderella is way worse off without her magic than Snow White is.
Ultimately, I think Snow White has too many defenses, failsafes, counters and advantages while Cinderella just has too many weaknesses here, and that's without getting into scaling stuff. Her magic is very impressive and powerful, but there are just too many caveats and counters to it that it isn't reliable enough to overcome Snow White's horde of allies that outmuscle and outnumber her. Meanwhile, there is no such downside or counter at all to Snow White deciding to just sing her to sleep. All done, fights over. Unfortunately for Cinderelly, she just doesn't have the means to outlast Snow White in a confrontation like this, and as powerful as the wand is, it's just not all that effective in a matchup like this. Snow White's kit is kind of a perfect counter to Cinderella.
And if we wanted to be real here, Snow White is suggested to be stronger than the dwarfs, she could probably bulldoze Cinderella herself. If we really wanted to get into it, there are multiple allusions to Snow White’s wishes being able to alter her own destiny, the whole movie is about that kind of thing if you think about it. Cinderella's is too, but her beliefs and wishes are made manifest by the Fairy Godmother, who can not only be defeated as we've seen before, but her existence is dependent upon Cinderella’s own belief. On the other hand, if we take a lot of the subtext in Snow White literally, then Snow White can literally alter fate by believing hard enough. She is stronger than dwarfs who can reflect orbs that travel from the sun to Earth and can create giant earthquakes. Snow White is a monster.
What looked like a clear cut win for Cinderella at first ended up being the reverse when we looked more into it. No matter what amount of leeway you want to give either, I just find Snow White to consistently be in a better position to survive and outlast her here. There's not really a whole lot else to talk about, so I have to think of a pun now. Cinderella had Snow chance of winning, and could see only White at the end of this. The winner is Snow White.
Oleggator
Hello there fellas, must be a nice way to start April, right about 2 days before my birthday since this blog’s release. This is probably one of our quickest and funniest research we’ve done, I mean, who could’ve known that Snow White and Cinderella have plenty of stuff to do. Seriously, I find it rather crazy ironic that working on this match up originally was intended as basically short april’s fools blog for characters with not that much media (as it looked like at first), and then instead it managed to both make me appreciate these old Disney cartoons once more and kinda even gave me a thought that Disney Princess Battle Royale generally ain’t that bad of an idea as one might expect, mainly with the original 6 at least, the classic, who this Game Boy Advance game and Kilala manga covers conveniently show (and likewise actually were the main 6 featured in a lot of Disney Princess Merch):
(And also a TN I decided to make so I could flex with it…)
Each of the 6 here are first, classic princesses from whom the whole thing started, it’s just the most natural way to do this BR justice, and even Belle and Aurora here are vs-viable to the surprise of, perhaps, the majority of casual vs debating audience. Though at the same time, if you think about it, Snow White and Cinderella are probably the ones that have the most in common with each other here. Love stories about practically orphans that were treated harshly by their stepmothers, where despite the abuse their faith and kindness prevailed. It just, weirdly makes sense…and on top of all that Snow White and Cinderella are the very first and probably Disney’s most iconic princesses in general. Maybe not in terms of direct popularity considering what Frozen did to the internet, but certainly the most influential and impactful ones in their history. It’s definitely much better flown MU for Snow White and Cinderella individually, that’s for sure. But let’s put our vs-glasses back on and see whose wish for happily ever after is supreme.
Let’s start with basics, that being stats. Generally if you would take a look at their main movies, neither would seem to have any stat edge in particular, at least neither would seem to be super strong or something of that kind, and whatever humans in their movies do seems to be generally accomplishable by an average human. However, tiles turn when taking a look at their potential infantry as well as side media. Cinderella’s best here is a medium sized dog Bruno, dogs generally have a strong bite if aggressive enough, and the only ones that Cinderella has besides Bruno are either mice, birds or practically an old woman, yes Fairy Godmother has a lot of potential but right now we’re speaking here in pure physicality. Generally while not a lot Cinderella’s side is decently impressive, Snow White’s animals from the woods however…they are practically a whole new deal. Not only the majority of medium sized animals that already outdo Cinderella’s mice and birds, but also deer, porcupine, snakes, and even a bear. A bear. That alone already gives Snow White edge. It becomes a bit of an overkill once we take into consideration dwarfs and their feats. Particularly the sun reflection and earthquake. Numbers on both ends become much, much higher than anything in Cinderella media. And to add salt on the wound, Snow White is heavily implied to be stronger than dwarfs so if she wants to she can deal with Cinderella in a single punch herself.
You potentially could argue cross scaling for Cinderella via some Disney Princess games where Disney Princesses are together, or general implication about how all 2D Disney cartoons are connected via Descendants, Villains book series (The Odd Sisters in particular), or heck, maybe even Kingdom Hearts itself, etc. cause as much as cross scaling discussions usually are moot topic in case of Disney Princesses it is a bit more safeground given not only them all being from the same company and “Disney Princess” perhaps being a franchise in on by itself, but also as mentioned above, just really a lot of media that has them co-existing in one way or another. I can mention at least 5 video games that had at least the main aforementioned 6 princesses. The aforementioned Descendants and Villains book series also connect the dots and have these characters co-existing with each other, with the only difference being the time periods in this matter. Kilala manga series had her travelling across different Disney Princess stories, so she by technicality can also be a connecting dot in a cross scaling chain. Even stuff like Kingdom Hearts, Mirrorverse (which actually has some plot going on by itself to give it a credit) or other massive Disney crossover media (which is pretty a lot by itself) aside, there still would be a lot of unironic connections to build, I think you get the idea. However at that point, you can do the same with Snow White, as she’s been as much in the media with other Disney Princesses as Cinderella, and her narrative is connected to the whole thing just as much as Cinderella's if not more, which leads us to square one, they are equal and Snow White’s infantry is just generally a more impressive one. This comparison is important to consider in our next category
Their powers and abilities. Let me get this out of the way immediately, Magical Wand is indeed, really impressive, and a highly dangerous weapon. It can do a lot, as we can see just in basic movies, and from that alone, you may already have a first impression that Cinderella should solidly take this, which is fair, as I said, Wand is impressive. However there are some major factors where this first impression doesn’t see right through. Let’s start with the fact that Cinderella herself barely used Magic Wand across the media, trust us, we checked plenty of side media from here and out, and in all of them Fairy Godmother is the one doing magic, at best it is some other self-insert princess who gets to use some sort of equivalent magic. With Cinderella we see her using Godmother’s wand…once. And that was specifically to bring Fairy Godmother back from being petrified.
Why is this important? After all, every magic spell in Cinderella requires the same three words - “bibbidi bobbidi boo”, so this should mean that Cinderella could use all of the magic spells that we’ve seen in the series. Answer to that is pretty simple, there is “could” but the more important matter here is “would”. Not whether Cinderella could use all of magic, but whether Cinderella would consider doing every single spell, The answer here is probably no. Cinderella is fairly inexperienced with Wand’s magic and some of the more big spells like time reverse, memory alteration or teleportation were used by Lady Tremaine, not Cinderella or even Fairy Godmother. Still even basic stuff like transmutation, if used by Cinderella or Fairy Godmother should give Cinderella an easy one shot win, no? Well there is a trick, “bibbidi bobbidi boo” is a pretty long word combination, even in general it takes plenty of time to focus on what the spell is and spell out said word combination, Fairy Godmother herself occasionally tends to forget the word combination and Cinderella herself was even shown to be interrupted in an attempt of performing. Even a few birds flying in would probably work for an interruption and here we are talking about the entire forest of animals. Which brings us to a bonus point. Magic Wand lacks area of effect. At best we’ve seen it affect three mice simultaneously. And here we are talking about dozens of animals along with dwarfs that can just practically act as a meat shield and eventually overwhelm Cinderella and her infantry. As one might say this turns into the Shrek 3 Snow White scene, where animals from the forest simply overwhelmed bigger and stronger trees.
Except here animals and dwarfs kinda go by themselves willingly simply to protect Snow White cause she’s just that nice maiden. But even that aside, assuming 1v1 scenario what is there Snow White can do that countermeasures magic Cinderella could do with wand? Singing. That’s right, singing. If for Cinderella to use any magic she needs to spell out 3 specific words, all that is needed for Snow White is just to sing and boom, Cinderella now is asleep and Snow White is free to go wherever she pleases. On top of that if Cinderella is actually given the wand (which isn’t usually the case), Snow White with a similar leeway should have access to her magical wand that can do pretty much all identical stuff Cinderella’s magic wand does, but without being projectile based, and therefore Snow White winning in a quick draw.
And this is also without mentioning a glaring weakness of Wand’s magic projectiles being able to be reflected, and Magic Mirror just happens to be a perfect countermeasure for that. On top of that, it offers practically omniscient knowledge meaning that while Cinderella or Fairy Godmother could use whatever magic, Magic Mirror could willingly inform Snow White about its capabilities and very notable weaknesses. It’s even possible that Mirror would do it at will, given that currently it is possessing Queen’s uncorrupted soul.
Because yes, Queen actually was not originally evil and at first was actually a loving mother, it’s just the same mirror but with her father’s soul corrupted Queen beyond recognition (again, read Fairest of All, it is actually a pretty good comic…). And now the Mirror has Queen’s pure soul that actually loves Snow White (this whole corruption deal happens with Lady Tremaine as well as some other Disney villains it seems, The Odd Sisters were just messing around that badly), and therefore it is in-character for her to help out, as even in the graphic novel at first we have seen Magic Mirror to talk to The Queen by itself, and only later speaking by a command, hell later on it even reveals that she herself magically protects Snow White from any other interferences, so she might as well countermeasure Fairy Godmother. Generally at bare minimum it means that the soul in the mirror has a will to talk, which in this case can leave Cinderella and Fairy Godmother to have their weaknesses of magic exploited by animals and dwarfs. There is but one potential win condition that being sending Snow White literally to Hades himself (like, the actual Hercules Hades’ underworld), however not only it requires FGM to create a vortex, Snow White/Grimhilde can safely counter it by using the travel charm. It is also worth mentioning that while both Grimhilde and Fairy Godmother can do magic, only one here is reliant on a specific object, while Grimhilde doesn’t really require wands or any particular items to do necessary spells as a spirit/mirror.
Honestly the result of the research here is unexpected to say the least, while in terms of powers Cinderella certainly had a pretty big potential to do something big, and with what options wand has it is certainly not out of realm of possibility for Cinderella to win completely, it’s just even at worst they have pretty similar stats and Snow White holds all tertiary edges that are important to take over in this fight, from powers and arsenal being a perfect countermeasure against spells being used against her, and animals with dwarfs simply overwhelming Cinderella. And at her best Snow White (along with the infantry) is simply too strong and fast at that. Cinderella certainly had solid and fit steps, but Snow White was ultimately the fairest one to continue with her happily ever after…
The winner is Snow White!
